Workshop description

Make a pendant or pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver in this taster class!

In this workshop you will learn how to make jewellery out of silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water that can easily be used at home with little need for equipment. Your expert tutor will take you through all the steps to create your own pieces ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver, a creme brule torch will do! You’ll then polish your silver piece ready to take home!

This is an excellent taster class to give you an idea of the possibilities of this unique material!

Note: please bring reading glasses if you need them

I attended a workshop as part of a family group with ages ranging from 13-75. We all had a great time, made some unique pieces of jewellery, and would recommend this workshop to anyone.
Lynn was fantastic, arranging everything for us and welcoming us into her home. Anna is a brilliant teacher, keeping things relaxed but informative, and we really appreciated her rushing back from Glasgow to run the workshop for us!
The location is great, too. It's a very easy 5-10 minute walk from Waverley. Can't wait to go back and learn more!

I am not one for going to new things on my own and certainly not creative events like jewellery making, however, it was given to me as a gift so nervously I attended. The evening was amazing. So relaxed and comfortable. Lynn and Anna were very welcoming. There were lovely refreshments in a fabulous environment. The jewellery making was fun and I learnt loads. I also came home with some lovely pendants which friends and family are very impressed with. Thank you to both Lynn and Anna for a great experience and confidence booster.

I loved our afternoon spent learning about the miracle that is silver clay. The welcome from Lynn was warm and the small group really bonded well. Anna was friendly, informative and really helpful too. Everyone produced amazing jewellery, I'm really proud of my double star necklace and heart charms.
I highly recommend this as a fantastic gift for yourself or others and hope to be back again soon.

I really enjoyed my afternoon getting my first taster to silver art clay. A note to anyone thinking about a workshop here, you are guaranteed a warm welcome in a warm and friendly creative environment. Met some lovely people. I am already looking forward to the next one.
