A fantastic day, so full of information. Anna is an inspiring teacher who encourages creativity in others. I am looking forward to my next class with her.

Fantastic course with Anna! I thoroughly enjoyed this class, my favourite part was learning to construct a more 3D pendant. Anna is a great teacher and demonstrates and explains the techniques in detail and has great tips on working with metal clay. The setting for the courses is great, just a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley if you are travelling, lots of space to work and a great lunch as well! It was nice to learn more about Arienas collective too and the other courses that they offer, I would definitely recommend taking a class with Anna and at this venue.

Based on the feedback of attendees to our jewellery classes our tutor Anna has designed a day covering what people want to learn.

This full-day intermediate workshop is suitable for anyone who has attended the silver clay taster class, the beginners silver clay jewellery making class or has experience of working with metal clay.

You will learn lots of hints and tips from your experienced tutor and will make:

  • A shadow box pendant

  • A Pandora-style silver wrapped bead

  • A silver lentil bead

We will cover creating box pendants with flat or rounded sides, using moulds to make decorations, designing the front and back of a piece, making bails as well as different types of unique silver beads.

You will torch fire all your pieces so you will be able to finish them and take them home by the end of the workshop.

You will have plenty of supervised practice and by the end of the day, you should have the confidence and skill to start making silver box and beads from home.

The cost of the course includes materials worth over £30 including 15g of silver clay and a fireable gemstone. This is all you will need to complete the class. You will also receive full class notes with all the information you need to make pieces at home as well as where to buy the tools and materials.

Refreshments and lunch are included in the course price featuring locally sourced products - are an important part of The Arienas Collective experience. We are fortunate to have a fantastic range of independent shops and producers nearby who we love to support.

Note, if you use reading glasses please bring these with you as the class will include some close work.
