Making Jewellery magazine axed after 10 years of publication

I'm sad to share with you that my favourite magazine, Making Jewellery, is no longer on sale. As a contributor to the magazine I received an email from the editor Sian Hamilton this week to let me know. She said

'Though we still have a strong readership, the increase in the costs of delivering the magazine to the public is now unsustainable'

Making Jewellery magazine was a great title covering lots of different types of jewellery making, interviews and product reviews. I was trying to see how many times I've written for them and I can't work it out! In my role as the marketing coordinator for the London Jewellery School I regularly contributed articles, often on business issues. I did an interview series of seven interviews over seven issues on different business topics including this one.

I also recently contributed an article on hallmarking for metal clay artists. But my proudest moment was to be asked to write a tutorial of three silver clay projects. I was so excited when the magazine came out to see that my jewellery had been chosen and photographed for the front cover!

If you would like a FREE copy of my three silver clay projects (including the one pictured above) from that issue I am giving it away to subscribers to my mailing list as a thank you. Simply join my mailing list here > and you'll get a copy. And you'll also receive very infrequent emails from me about new courses and offers (you can unsubscribe at any time).

I am sad about the fate of Making Jewellery magazine. So many of my favourite publications have now gone including Metal Clay Artist magazine. However, luckily you can still currently buy digital editions of past titles so do check that out here > if you're interested.
