Free beaded jewellery tutorial - Creative Craft Show Live

The Creative Craft Show have not been able to run their in-person events so I was delighted to be invited to be a part of the online Creative Craft Show Live this weekend. I have filmed a free jewellery making tutorial that I would love you to watch.

I have previously taught beaded jewellery at the London Jewellery School and created this two-strand beaded chain necklace (below) especially for the event. You can find all the details including the tools and materials I used and recommended suppliers below.

Here are the details to watch live:

Creative Craft Show Live (the full event is on 4th and 5th July, do take a look as there are lots to see)

My tutorial is on Saturday 4th July at 2pm (BST)

The event is running live on their Facebook group. Here's the link

https://www.facebook.com/thecraftshows/videos/950935818692791/

I’ll be in the chat answering any questions you might have.

You can also watch on their website although you won’t be able to join in with the chat there http://www.stitchandhobby.co.uk/creativecraftshowlive/

If you make a necklace using this tutorial I would just LOVE to see it! Please tag me on Instagram @annaccampbell or email me a picture anna@jewelleryschoolscotland.co.uk

The project: 2 strand beaded chain necklace and earrings

Tools

Luckily with beaded jewellery you don’t need a lot of tools to get started.

Beading mat

Pliers set - round nosed, chain/snipe nosed, flat pliers and side cutters

Ruler

Materials

0.8mm silver plated wire (I bought a 6m length and probably used around 2m. Amount needed will depend on the size of your beads and the length you require)

6mm open jump rings, silver plated (I used 40 for this project)

2 x silver plated earring wire

2 x 3 inch silver plated head pins

1 x silver plated clasp. You can use any that you like e.g. a toggle clasp, lobster clasp, magnetic clasp etc

(You could of course choose to use gold plated or sterling silver wire)

Beads of your choice. Oval or rectangle are a good choice for this project. You can change the design and have three round beads per station of wire.

For the project I demonstrated I used:

30 oval glass beads, - 2cm in length, 1 cm wide

16 round beads - 10mm glass round facet beads

All of the materials and the round beads were purchased from International Craft

The oval glass beads I had in my stash for a while and purchased from another jewellery

Recommended jewellery suppliers

International Craft

Kernowcraft

Beads Direct

Wires
