Project three - setting a gemstone in a silver pendant

Workshop description

In this one-day workshop, suitable for beginners or those that have taken the taster course, you will learn how to make three different projects out of silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water that can easily be used at home with little need for equipment. Your expert tutor will take you through all the steps to create your own pieces ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver, a creme brule torch will do!

The projects you will make during this one-day workshop are - a pair of earrings, a stone-set pendant and a moulded charm. You will learn how to make your own silicone mould to use with silver clay so if you have any small charms, buttons etc you would like to bring along to mould please do! If not, a selection will be provided for you to choose from.

You will learn how to design, make and fire your own pieces and will go home with your lovely creations to give as gifts or to keep for yourself!
